The end of the road for Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)!
The Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) is a free Microsoft solution designed to simplify and automate the deployment of Windows Operating Systems and applications.
It has been the “go-to” tool set for IT professionals for decades and provides tools to create, customize, automate and manage Windows images across multiple devices.
However, from October 10 2025, Microsoft is deprecating the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) integration with Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr/SCCM). Continuing to use it beyond this date may cause corruption with Task Sequences, and will not be supported.
