Dan’s background in Application Management and delivery go back to the days when Citrix DaaS was Winframe and Microsoft AppV was Softgrid. Dan understands the importance of giving users the best day to day experience they can have – delivering the correct up-to-date applications for their job that perform well and are correctly configured.

Today, as well as improving the user experience, Application Management is just as much about being secure against cyber-threats. It doesn’t matter if you use Windows 10/11, Citrix or Horizon desktops, Dan is on a mission to provide businesses with a simple and consistent application packaging and delivery process that keeps everything up to date, not only to give users a feature rich experience, but to protect as much as possible against malware, ransomware and other vulnerabilities.
Dan has worked in End User Computing (EUC) for over 25 years. Premier Foods

Application Management.

This national ambient food specialist with more than 4,000 employees across 15 sites asked us to streamline their application management processes, which were overly complex and time-consuming.

Working closely with our partners at Premier Foods, we created a Business as Usual (BaU) application management solution. This took the responsibility for managing all applications across the business away from management.

The Workspace IT team took over responsibility for all application processes, leaving key employees and decision-makers free to focus on their primary duties. By becoming an extension of Premier Foods’ internal team, we were able to develop a deep understanding of the business operations — as well as the people in charge of them.

Emergency Covid response and a move to flexible working.

Payroll and HR specialist Zellis approached us to develop a comprehensive application management solution to facilitate large-scale home-based working at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We used a range of data intelligence tools to gather information about the organisation’s requirements and application usage patterns. We developed and executed a Microsoft Remote Desktop Services solution — hosted in Azure — in under a week. Over time, we decided to switch to a hosted desktop solution using the end-user computing platform Citrix Cloud.

During the early phase of our collaboration with Zellis, we succeeded in ensuring the company didn’t lose a single working hour or miss a payroll deadline. When it became apparent that a long-term solution was required, our switch to Citrix drove Zellis to several impressive achievements — including a significant increase in the firm’s Net Promoter Score (NPS) and three awards for customer support initiatives.

Application Management.

Leading German food specialist Zertus approached us for help with their increasingly complex endpoint device inventory. Comprised of laptops, desktops, thin clients and tablets, their disparate device list was proving difficult to manage. The client wanted to bring everything together with a single management solution that facilitated remote and hybrid working models.

We suggested the use of Microsoft Intune as a powerful, cost-effective endpoint management tool. We worked closely with Zertus to ensure best practices and configure Windows updates across multiple devices. We also developed solutions for the configuration of update rings, driver updates, profiles and compliance policies.

Since we developed their endpoint device management solution, Zertus have reported a significant improvement in their ability to manage devices efficiently. We also addressed security concerns related to the use of devices not on the network. Our custom solution reduced the company’s server footprint — reducing costs and enabling the use of a consistent toolset across all devices.
