The long anticipated day came and went in a Flash. Adobe Flash Player is now end of life!
What do we know and expect from vendors now Flash is EOL?
Adobe:
- Adobe no longer supports Flash Player since 31 December 2020
- Flash content has been blocked from running in Flash Player beginning 12 January 2021

Microsoft:
- Flash will not be disabled by default from the legacy version of Microsoft Edge (built on EdgeHTML) or Internet Explorer 11 prior to its removal in December of 2020
- In January 2021, Flash will be fully removed from the new Microsoft Edge

VMware:
- VMware's recommended approach for customers are to upgrade their VMware vCenter Server(s) to 6.7 Update 3 by December 31, 2020 and use the vSphere (HTML5) Client to manage the vSphere environment
- Horizon Administrator (Flash) is replaced by Horizon Console (HTML5). Horizon Console was initially released with 7.8 but did not reach feature complete until 7.11

Other vendors are advising similar steps to the above where products require action to move away from using Flash. Our advice is to get your systems upgraded quickly before all the restrictions come into force.
